Bolton Abbey, North Yorkshire.

September's coach ramble was at Bolton Abbey, where we arrived at 11.30 am on a beautiful day for a ramble.  Peter Wilson led a party of 26 on a "moderate" walk of 7.5 miles to Hare Head and along part of the Dales Way.

Frank Atherton's group of 23 enjoyed an easy to moderate 5.6 mile walk, including some steep sections, past the Priory and along the Strid Wood Orange Nature Trail.  At lunch time at High Strid we were joined by the chaffinches and we saw a heron and 2 wild water swimmers.  At the Cavendish Pavilion we sat and relaxed as Peter and co. went past on their way back to the Priory.  The coach left at 4.15pm after a good day out in Yorkshire.
