Ribchester, Lancashire.

March's coach ramble to Ribchester got off to a late start as the coach had been blocked in by a lorry at the yard.  Peter Wilson led the group of 28 on the longer walk from the car park up to Knowle Green and back via Dutton and Stydd.  They enjoyed a fine Spring day and fine views of the Ribble valley.  On an undulating route the ground was a bit less muddy than on the recce.

Frank Atherton led 15 on the shorter walk along part of the Roman Road although they roamed a little near Showley Hall and before reaching the bridge over the River Ribble.  They passed the Stydd almshouses and some very desirable properties before reaching the Black Bull and the café in the village.
