Settle, North Yorkshire.

October's Coach Ramble to Settle was on a beautiful, early Autumn day, although the forecast had been for showers.  The turnout was again very disappointing for such an attractive area.

Peter Wilson led a group of only 10 on the longer walk along the Ribble Way to Stainforth.  They climbed up past Cattrig and past Jubilee and Victoria caves and Attermire, for a rather steep and rough descent into Settle.  Frank Atherton led a group of 16 on a shorter walk towards Stainforth, before turning back to Langcliffe and a late lunch.  5 members chose to walk back to Settle by road, whilst the remainder climbed up to the fell side to enjoy the scenery before walking back down into Settle.  It was a pity that so many missed a really enjoyable day.
