West Kirby

On December's coach ramble at West Kirby on the Wirrall we enjoyed a fine day after Thursday's storms.

Peter Wilson led a party of 26, starting off along the sea front past the Marine Lake and along the Wirrall Way to Thurstaston.  They returned via Thurstaston Common and by the Mariners Column on Caldy Hill, through Ashton Park and back to West Kirby and the Charity shops and Wetherspoons.  They enjoyed some extensive views on their 8.5 mile walk.

Frank Atherton led the shorter walk past the station and up Grange Hill to the War Memorial.

12 of us enjoyed the panoramic views of the Dee and Mersey estuaries.  We carried on to the beacon on Caldy Hill and found our way down into Caldy and the sea front.  As we passed the Marine Lake we saw the damage caused by Thursday's storms!
